A brilliant school in Newbury, West Berkshire are looking to take on a Student Wellbeing Assistant on board this October, to join their staff in giving personlised education to pupils with additional needs. The school have an established line-up of professional therapists, psychologists and SEN specialists working at the school that work alongside classroom assistants to ensure the students receive learning support that they will not not get in a mainstream education.

As a Student Wellbeing Assistant, you will be supporting students on a 1-1 ratio, helping them face challenges that come up during the school day. The students at this school face barriers and struggles regarding developmental trauma and different social, emotional and mental health needs. The Student Wellbeing Assistant will be responsible for observing triggers and facilitating different therapeutic techniques with the goal of promoting the students' mental well-being. Specialist SEMH School Experience supporting children or adults facing social, emoptional and mental health challenges / degree level education (Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or relevant subjects) would be desirable but is not mandatory. Full training provided.
