About the Role:
We are looking for Experienced Children’s Support Workers to join our team on an ad-hoc basis. This is a flexible role ideal for individuals seeking a rewarding job that allows for work around their personal commitments. As a Children’s Support Worker, you will provide high-quality support to children and young people, helping them to develop independence, confidence, and life skills in a safe and nurturing environment. You will support children with a variety of needs, including emotional, physical, and behavioral challenges, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or group support to children and young people, delivering a high standard of care and guidance.
* Assist with the implementation of individual support plans, promoting independence and personal development.
* Foster a positive and encouraging environment for children, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported.
* Assist with daily activities, including educational, recreational, and social activities, to encourage engagement and skill development.
* Support children with emotional and behavioral challenges using appropriate strategies and interventions.
* Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting open communication and collaboration.
* Monitor and record progress, reporting any concerns to the management team.
* Adhere to all safeguarding protocols, policies, and procedures, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience working with children, particularly those with additional support needs, behavioral challenges, or emotional difficulties.
* Strong understanding of child development and the ability to support children with diverse needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and team members.
* A proactive, compassionate, and patient approach to working with children.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviors and implement support strategies effectively.
* A flexible, adaptable approach, able to work in a variety of settings and with different children.
* A relevant qualification in social care, education, or a related field (e.g., SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.
* An enhanced PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check is required.
