Assistant Farm Manager

Join our well-established and expanding co-operative farming client, specializing in high-quality sweetcorn, squash, and pumpkins for both retail and wholesale markets.

Role & Responsibilities:

* Conduct day-to-day farming operations, including tractor and forklift driving.

* Crop walking with an agronomist to maintain high-quality standards.

* Oversee irrigation and crop husbandry.

* Procure necessary farming inputs.

* Manage and motivate a small team for efficiency and productivity.

* Assist the Farm Manager in planting, robotic weeding, harvesting, and packing seasonal crops.

* Perform general farm work, maintenance, and seasonal planning between November and March.

* Supervise machinery maintenance, labour management, and oversee crop production from planting to dispatch.

Ideal Candidate:

* Experience in managing seasonal labour within the horticultural industry.

* A keen interest in learning about different crops (training provided where necessary).

* Strong leadership and organizational skills.

* Practical hands-on approach with machinery and farm operations.
