Are you a Mechanical Engineering professional with hands-on lab experience and a passion for supporting education? An FE College we are working with is looking for a skilled and motivated High Skills Technician to join their dynamic team and help deliver high-quality HE engineering education.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of their Mechanical Engineering department, which includes the Materials Lab, Mechanical Science Lab, and Project Lab. You will play a key role in supporting both teaching staff and students, ensuring their equipment and resources are well-maintained and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist lecturers with preparing equipment and resources for practical sessions.
-Ensure tools and machinery are properly maintained, calibrated, and in safe working order.
-Carry out risk assessments and ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
-Provide technical support in our various engineering labs, including materials testing, fluid mechanics, and mechanical principles.

Essential Criteria:

-A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
-At least 2 years of experience working with mechanical test equipment (e.g., for material testing, fluid mechanics, or mechanical principles).
-Strong understanding of health and safety practices in an engineering environment.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with students and staff.
-Full right to work in the UK.
