The purpose of this role is to supervise a team of warehouse operatives and coordinate all activities that take place in the warehouse to ensure consistent achievement of the volume, quality, and efficiency targets so that Whistl continues to deliver the highest quality, most cost-effective offering for its customers across all products.
About the Role
This Warehouse Supervisor role will involve:
Resource and Process Management - Plan resource allocation according to volume and throughput and manage the unloading and loading of deliveries to meet the Service Level Agreements, communicating with internal and external customers to ensure they are kept up-to-date and informed on operational activities.
Team Management - Brief and debrief team members and colleagues daily, coordinating team activities, delegating and prioritising work, and managing staff attendance, conduct, and performance in line with company policies and procedures. Deputise for the shift manager during periods of absence.
Training - Train team members on induction to support the personal development and/or performance improvement of the team.
Compliance - Adhere to, maintain, develop, and regularly update all warehouse standard operating procedures in liaison with the depot management team, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including (but not limited to) Safety, Health, and Environment regulations, Carriage of Dangerous Goods regulations, Data Protection, and Information Security regulations.
Communication - Assist in developing a strong team culture by building effective relationships with colleagues from around the business and sharing information to maximise efficiency.We would welcome applications for this Warehouse Supervisor role from candidates with skills in the following areas: warehousing, planning, coordinating, training, process management, people management, MS Office, health & safety, FLT, performance management, compliance, as a Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, or Team Leader.

Additional Information
The position requires a 40-hour workweek with flexibility to support a 24-hour operation. Shifts will cover any 5 out of 7 days.
You should also be adaptable and willing to work across various shifts and, occasionally, at different locations.

Essential Skills
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and provide feedback to support people and process management.
Employ logical problem-solving skills to assess issues, identify solutions and proactively identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
Manage workload effectively to meet conflicting deadlines while maintaining high-performance standards and consistent accuracy and effectively motivate and develop teams to prioritise and organise activities.
Obtain relevant certifications such as Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence, First Aid, Fire Warden, or Health & Safety training for certain supervisory roles.
