We are seeking an Assistant Estimator to join our expanding Pre-construction Team.
As an Assistant Estimator you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Lead Estimator in calculating the cost of labour/materials/subcontracts that are required for a construction project.
We are a leading supplier of infrastructure maintenance, repair and renewals solutions in the Aviation, Rail and Civil engineering sector, working for Client owners and operators of secure and safety critical infrastructure including Network Rail, National Grid, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, MoD, and Associated British Ports.
This role is currently offered with an agile working solution
Role and responsibilities:
Identify labour, materials and subcontractor requirements as required on a project-by-project basis
Accurately measure from drawings and understand the implications of a specification.
Send out for/receive/adjudicate supplier/subcontractor quotes
Input the above onto tender settlement document and into estimating software
Work with other members of the bid team in the production of bids
Liaise with line manager to review detail received and agree approach for estimating
Take responsibility for price submissions’ ensuring that these comply with the submissions and Company guidelinesSkills and Experience:
Experience within Aviation and Defence
Use of Estimating software such as Causeway Estimating or Candy
Production of procurement schedules and drawing measurement
Ability to attend site visits/meetings if required
Experience with NEC contract terms and conditions
Experience using various Civil Engineering specifications e.g. manual for the specification of Highway WorksAbout you:
