We are working with an NHS organisation who is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the provision of a comprehensive financial and technical accounting function, playing a key role in maintaining financial integrity across the Trust. As part of the Finance Team, you will oversee the production of the Trust’s annual accounts, provide leadership to the financial accounting team, and ensure compliance with all relevant financial standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Financial Services, you will:
* Lead the production of the Trust’s annual accounts, ensuring all financial timescales and legal requirements are met.
* Support the Head of Financial Services by deputising where required, and contributing to the delivery of well-designed and efficient financial systems.
* Provide expert accounting advice, ensuring adherence to financial governance and best practices across the Trust.
* Manage the Financial Accounting Team, promoting professional development, and ensuring key performance targets are met.
* Analyse complex financial information to support decision-making, including option appraisals and business development processes.
* Lead the coordination of the Trust’s annual accounts and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with national guidelines and deadlines.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with statutory and NHS guidelines, providing specialist advice on their interpretation.
* Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, to build strong working relationships.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the finance team operates effectively and efficiently.

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a finance professional who:
* Is CCAB qualified (or equivalent), with significant experience in NHS finance.
* Has extensive knowledge of financial accounting and reporting procedures within the NHS, including expertise in technical accounting rules.
* Demonstrates excellent leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing teams.
* Possesses strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences.
* Has experience in managing the production of annual accounts and coordinating external audits.
* Is highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously to meet tight deadlines.
