We are a countywide team responsible for supporting and accommodating any unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) who has arrived into Suffolk spontaneously or via the National Transfer Scheme (NTS).

Our duties resemble mainstream Child In Care teams with the additional responsibility of ensuring our clients' asylum application is submitted to the Home Office and advocate any subsequent Immigration matter thereafter.

We internally transfer clients at 18years from social workers to person advisors who support our care leavers up to the age of 25years pending need and circumstance.

Undertaking statutory child in care duties, including CIC reviews, PEPs, S47 enquiries
Undertaking brief enquiries
Manage Caseload of UASC until 18yo
Organise appts with Immigration solicitor/education and Health.
Key link between UASC and their foster carer/housing provider
Organise transfer to Person Advisor near 18th birthday ensuring PA has met the client and aware of pending tasks/achievements and ensuring necessary referrals submitted re: housing/benefits etc.If you thrive to make a difference and have 3 years Social worker experience and this is the role for you, then we would love to hear from you
