Role Overview:
We are recruiting for one of our partner schools, due to open its doors in June 2025 in Durham, with a capacity for 40 pupils, specialising in ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and Complex Needs. As Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and growth of this new school. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in educational leadership, particularly in the field of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Complex Needs. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students facing educational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Educational Leadership: Lead the strategic development and day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
* ASC and Complex Needs Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Complex Needs, managing associated behaviours effectively and tailoring support to meet individual needs.
* Hands-On Approach: Be actively involved in the school community, promoting collaboration, continuous improvement, and a positive school culture.
* Strategic Planning and Growth: Oversee the school’s growth, ensuring high educational standards and the successful delivery of a tailored curriculum.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Headteacher Experience: Proven experience as a Headteacher, with a successful track record in educational leadership.
* ASC and Complex Needs Focus: Strong background in working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Complex Needs.
* Independent School Understanding: Familiarity with the dynamics of independent schools and a hands-on approach to school management.
