With a portfolio boasting several recent framework awards in the region, this business has a stellar reputation in delivering excellence in every project they undertake. As they continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a proactive and motivated Quantity Surveyor who is willing to travel across the region to site and office locations, throughout the North East & Yorkshire. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of projects, with the opportunity to progress to Senior Quantity Surveyor within the next 18-24 months, depending on performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for civil infrastructure projects, including general civils, water, and environmental works.

Monitor project costs, identify potential cost overruns, and implement cost-control measures to ensure projects remain on budget.
*
Review contracts, negotiate terms, and manage subcontractor agreements to optimise project profitability.
*
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, identify variations, and verify quantities for payment purposes.
*
Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to forecast project costs and financial performance.
*
Prepare timely and accurate progress reports, financial forecasts, and cost analyses for project stakeholders.
*
Assist with claims management, dispute resolution, and contract administration as needed.
Qualifications:
*
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil infrastructure construction, with a focus on general civils, water, and environmental projects.
*
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost-control techniques, NEC4 experience would be preferred.
*
Willingness to travel across the region to site and office locations as required.
*
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
*
Proficiency in industry-standard software.
*
Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is advantageous but not essential.
