Key Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant:

Supporting students with special educational needs in the classroom, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum.
Working closely with teachers to adapt lesson materials to meet individual student needs.
Providing one-to-one or small group support to students, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and supported.
Monitoring and recording student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Encouraging the social and emotional development of students, building their confidence and resilience.
Requirements for the SEND Teaching Assistant Role:

Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role is highly desirable.
A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs support is advantageous.
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting students’ learning and well-being.
