The Opportunity
We’re recruiting for a part-time Food Assistant & Retail Assistant to join SPAR retail store in Southport, PR8 6JW. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for customer service looking for stable, part-time work in a friendly, supportive environment.

Role Overview
As a Food Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of the team, ensuring that customers have a seamless shopping experience. You’ll be involved in daily food preparation, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and making sure shelves are fully stocked with fresh products.

Key Responsibilities

* Assisting with food preparation and ensuring the quality and freshness of all products on display

* Providing excellent customer service, assisting with queries, and making product recommendations

* Operating the till and handling transactions accurately

* Assisting with stock rotation, receiving deliveries, and keeping shelves well-stocked

* Upholding health and safety standards throughout your shift

Ideal Candidate

* A friendly, positive attitude and commitment to customer service

* Reliable and flexible with shift patterns, as you may be scheduled between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, including weekends

* Detail-oriented, with a focus on food hygiene and safety standards

* Team-oriented and communicative with colleagues

* Prior experience in retail or food service is beneficial but not essential
