Maintenance Technician - Job Description
The company is a world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, contributing to safer, more sustainable aviation for current and future generations. They design, test, manufacture, and assemble landing gear used on commercial aircraft, including Airbus and Boeing, as well as UK military aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon. The UK division, based in Gloucester, has been a leader in cutting-edge landing gear technology for over 90 years.
Shift work will be required on a 4-shift, 4 week rotation.
This will include:
£37,398 plus shift uplift;
Nightshift - 38.50%
Bridging Shift - 39.75%
Weekend Shift - 59.02%
Fifth shift - 48.7%
What will I be doing?
You will be part of a diverse multi-skilled process and assembly maintenance team, working on equipment used in surface finish, heat treatment, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), paint, and OE Assembly for an internationally leading company.
This role involves being responsible for the safe upkeep and reliability of production assets used in the manufacturing of aircraft parts. Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance.
Interpreting engineering drawings to fault find & identify spare parts required.
Documenting & prioritizing work through a CMMS.
Operating within all HS&E standards and policies.
Mandatory:
Must be able to read mechanical drawings, including assembly and schematics.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Demonstrated fault-finding skills/abilities.
Fabrication and fitting skills (Core bench-fitting skills necessary).
Experience using a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
Ability to work safely and adhere to HS&E standards and policies.
Preferred:
Time-served engineering maintenance apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3).
Suitable experience working with furnaces, NDT equipment, or surface finish equipment.
Electrical experience/qualification.
HNC in mechanical engineering.
Knowledge of lean, 5s & 6 sigma methodologies.
