About the Role: We’re working with a leading housing provider to recruit a Maintenance Surveyor on a temporary basis. This is a vital role within the regional Property Services team, responsible for overseeing a wide range of works including responsive repairs, voids, disrepair claims, and cyclical maintenance across a diverse housing portfolio.
You’ll work closely with residents, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that all works are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance, maintaining customer satisfaction throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out pre- and post-inspections, technical assessments, and detailed repair surveys
Manage a caseload of responsive and cyclical repairs, void property inspections, complex works, and insurance claims
Oversee delivery and performance of contractors across a regional repairs budget of approx. £2m
Produce accurate technical reports, costings, and ensure high-quality standards for all instructed works
Support the delivery of works in line with legal disrepair cases, environmental health orders, and group processes
Monitor compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including asbestos and CDM requirements
Liaise closely with M&E contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth coordination of works
Ensure timely turnaround of void properties and minimise rent loss by maintaining standards
Drive excellent levels of customer service and satisfaction, maintaining strong communication with residentsWhat We’re Looking For:
Level 3 Diploma in Surveying, Property, and Maintenance (essential)
Membership of a professional body such as RICS or CIOB (essential)
Strong knowledge of building regulations, planning, health & safety, and asset compliance
Proven experience in social housing, particularly in responsive repairs and voids management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong IT skills – particularly in Excel, Word, and data management systems
Experience managing small projects and working with CDM requirements
Ability to work independently and prioritise in a fast-paced, changing environmentDesirable:
Degree-level qualification in a related field
Experience in a housing association or local authority setting
Flexibility to travel regionally and attend meetings outside standard hours
