About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming and inclusive school in Walsall. This is a full-time position offering a competitive daily rate.
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pupil's learning, emotional development, and overall progress, ensuring they thrive in a supportive and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with specific learning, behavioral, or physical needs.
Supporting the class teacher with tailored interventions and resources to meet the pupil's individual requirements.
Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons, ensuring the pupil feels supported and valued.
Monitoring and recording progress, reporting to the teacher and SENCO as required.
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Building a strong relationship with the pupil, promoting confidence and independence.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
Have prior experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting.
Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the pupil's unique needs.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the pupil, staff, and parents.
Be confident in managing challenging behaviors and implementing positive reinforcement strategies.
Have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
Hold relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
