Job:
An Estimator is required for a leading construction firm specialising in Fabric, M&E, BWIC, Passive, Reactive, Logistics, Consumables, Fit Out, Firestopping, Facilities Management, and Construction. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, they are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join their growing team.

Job Description:
As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction process by accurately estimating the costs and resources required for our projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are accurately priced and that all aspects of the cost are considered before starting work. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of construction processes, and a solid background in cost estimation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.

* Analyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to identify cost-effective solutions and estimate project costs.

* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project scope and requirements.

* Research and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

* Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring expenses to ensure that projects remain on track financially.

* Assess project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns.

* Prepare bid packages and help in the preparation of tender submissions.

* Review contracts and make recommendations on scope adjustments and potential savings.

* Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding project estimates and budgets.

Skills & Qualifications:

* Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.

* Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost control.

* Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

* Exceptional attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.

* Strong communication and negotiation skills.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

* Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

* Certification from a professional body (e.g., RICS, AACE, etc.) is a plus.
