About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Science Teacher with a Biology specialism to join a well-regarded secondary school in Derby. This is a full-time, temporary role, beginning as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deliver engaging and inspiring Biology lessons, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Teach Biology as well as General Science to students, fostering a love of scientific inquiry and critical thinking.

* Develop and deliver dynamic, well-planned lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.

* Prepare and assess coursework, providing constructive feedback to promote students’ academic growth.

* Collaborate with other science staff to contribute to the department’s curriculum development.

* Support students’ academic progress by creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Biology.

* Proven experience teaching Biology and Science at secondary school level.

* Sound understanding of the UK Science curriculum and assessment frameworks.

* Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment.

* Passionate about Biology, with a desire to make a positive impact on students’ learning and development.
