Contract Manufacturing Engineer Tooling

A new position has arisen for a talented assembly biased Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer with tooling experience working on assembled products to undertake a varied, key role supporting a major new NPI project on a long-term rolling contract.
As Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer, you will take accountability for supporting the design for manufacture (DFM) and supporting development of jigs / fixtures and tooling for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
This is a key role and as such there will be real opportunity to make a significant impact.
Key accountabilities for Manufacturing Tooling Engineer will include:
Ensuring product design is suitable for manufacture (DFM) with tooling consideration specifically in mind.
Design of jigs / fixturing and tooling using 3D CAD
New Product Introduction (NPI)
Creating specifications for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes
Devising and maintaining tooling maintenance & audits schedules
CAPEX – identifying any additional needs and working with teams internally and externally
To succeed in this varied and autonomous project focused role you will ideally be:
An experienced Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer
Have proven manufacturing engineering experience gained supporting the development of electro-mechanical assembled products.
Jig / Fixture / tooling design using 3D CAD essential
