Tezlom HealthCare are now recruiting staff for the position of Refuge Support Worker in South west London who have experience with refugee and/or asylum seekers.
Support Worker must have experience of the following duties:
Supporting women and children fleeing domestic abuse
Complex mental health needs
Substance misuse
Supporting those at risk of Homelessness
Main Duties
* Help clients to access services they need, and to which they are entitled, e.g. through setting up referral systems to health, mental health and other support services
* Provide face to face, telephone, text and email contact to clients
* Help clients to develop and maintain a practical and therapeutic support network
* Work with clients in a culturally sensitive way
* Arrange interpretation for counselling sessions
* Arrange childcare for clients with children when accessing counselling
* Support with writing of specialist reports (If applicable)
* Identify and find solutions to (where possible) barriers to accessing support faced by this client group
* Consider child and adult safeguarding issues when engaging with all clients and follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Manage the caseload and maintain case notes
* Follow procedures, policies and protocols with other services so that the safety of the client is kept central at all times
* Maintain effective communication systems with key partners, including mental health and sexual health services, voluntary sector organisations etc.
* Work flexibly as a member of the team and be responsive to changing needs
* Be willing to undertake relevant training as required
* Maintain agreed levels of confidentiality
* Undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post holder
This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday.
