Fairmead is recruiting on behalf of a respected principal contractor known for delivering quality projects in the industrial steel frame sector. We are searching for a Site Manager with proven expertise in steel-framed structures to take charge of an upcoming project in Bedford. This role is pivotal in driving progress, coordinating trades, and ensuring safety and quality on site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Oversight: Take ownership of day-to-day site operations, ensuring the smooth progression of works according to the build programme.
* Trade Coordination: Liaise effectively with subcontractors and oversee site activities to maximise productivity, quality, and adherence to deadlines.
* Safety Management: Implement and enforce rigorous HSE standards, conducting daily safety briefings, and ensuring all site practices comply with industry regulations.
* Quality Control: Conduct inspections, oversee snagging, and ensure that all works align with project specifications and quality expectations.
* Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, project stakeholders, and the senior management team, providing regular progress updates and managing site documentation.
* Logistics and Scheduling: Coordinate deliveries, manage material orders, and oversee site logistics to prevent delays and optimise efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Demonstrable experience as a Site Manager, ideally on steel frame projects or in an industrial build environment.
* Strong grasp of health, safety, and environmental standards in construction.
* Excellent team leadership, able to manage multiple trades while maintaining high productivity and quality.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced site setting.
Requirements:
* Ready to commence work on Monday, 11th November.
* Valid CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications.
* Proactive with outstanding organisational and problem-solving abilities
