Position: Engineering Manager
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
Location: Somerset (Commutable from Bristol, Bath, Salisbury, Yeovil)

Shift: Monday - Friday

Zest Engineering is working closely with a hight reputable food manufacturer in the South West.

Job Overview:
As the Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading, mentoring, and growing a team of engineers. You will oversee the entire engineering process, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker who enjoys both people management and hands-on technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage maintenance activities and resources for designated areas.
* Lead and implement the plant's maintenance strategy.
* Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to enhance autonomous, preventative, and curative maintenance programs.
* Coordinate TPM learning/training plans with the TPM Coach and Factory Manager, creating both on-the-job and classroom learning opportunities. Recommend improvements or new training programs.
* Provide regular updates on PPM execution, identifying challenges and offering solutions for continuous improvement.
* Uphold company standards within the factory, acting as a change agent to promote continuous improvement.
* Ensure line efficiency while maintaining the maintenance budget, using PDCA principles, root cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
* Lead sustainability efforts in the designated areas of responsibility.
* Work with departmental leaders to minimise downtime during maintenance activities.
* Establish optimal methods and equipment for both new and existing operations.
* Innovate to improve the plant's operations and overall efficiency.
* Ensure the maintenance team is properly trained and regularly evaluated.

Key Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience in engineering, with experience in a leadership role.
* Strong background with the Food industry (FMCG)
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make high-level technical decisions.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on partnership.
