About the role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in SEMH needs, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and mental health development of our students. You will work closely with the teaching staff and SENCo to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that allows every child to thrive. Your responsibilities will include providing tailored support to children with SEMH needs, helping them engage with the curriculum, and developing positive behavior strategies. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, empathetic, and passionate about making a difference.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs or in a similar SEN role.

• A genuine passion for supporting children’s social, emotional, and mental health.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school, though all are welcome to apply regardless of faith.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.

• Collaborate with teachers to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).

• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

• Assist in developing and implementing behavior management strategies that promote positive behavior.

• Support students during transitions and unstructured times, such as lunch and playtimes, to encourage positive social interactions.
