Are you a highly-organised, methodical and self-managed Accounts professional looking for a varied, hands-on role supporting a busy team? Our client, an SME engineering business based in Stockport, is currently recruiting for a part-time Office & Finance Manager / Coordinator to undertake an autonomous support role combining finance, payroll and administration duties, working 20-25 hours per week.

Job Description
Working alongside the directors, key duties of the role will include:
Raising sales invoices and reconciling with purchase order requisitions
Uploading supplier invoices, making bill payments and sending remittances
Setting up monthly payroll, checking HMRC notices, sending accountant details of deductions and making HMRC PAYE payments
Calculating CIS submissions and sending CIS statements to subcontractors
Updating payroll software and checking payslips
Reconciling payments and bank accounts
Processing expenses, mileage and credit card receipts
Sending statements and chasing overdue payments
Monitoring accounts inbox and responding to queries
Identifying and investigating any discrepancies
Preparation of quarterly VAT return
Creating and generating monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Undertaking general office management and administration duties
Person Specification
Suitable candidates will need to:
Have ideally 2 years’+ experience in a similar hands-on accounts and finance role
Be experienced in payroll, including understanding and awareness of CIS scheme
Have a high level of proficiency in Xero Accounts Software
Ideally have a Book-keeping or AAT qualification or equivalent
Be an excellent communicator, able to liaise with clients and work in a small team environment
Demonstrate initiative and a desire to contribute to the development of the accounts and reporting function to support business growth
Have an analytical and methodical approach
