Overview: A dynamic educational institution is seeking an Employability Trainer to deliver high-quality teaching sessions, support student progress, and promote a safe learning environment. This role involves working with a diverse range of sector-specific programmes, such as Business Administration, Customer Service, Hospitality, Adult Social Care, and Digital Skills.
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £25,918 - £33,430 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week, permanent
Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme

Key Responsibilities of the Employability Trainer
• Deliver engaging and effective employability training sessions.
• Develop and maintain teaching resources for various programmes.
• Manage a caseload of students, supporting recruitment and selection.
• Provide both academic and pastoral support, fostering student growth.
• Carry out assessments, internal verification, and liaise with awarding bodies.
• Embed English and maths into teaching practices.
• Collaborate with student services and other staff to deliver a comprehensive learner experience.
• Lead efforts for quality improvement and engage with employers for enhanced learning opportunities.
• Support marketing and recruitment activities.
• Maintain safe practices and minimise resource wastage.
Skills and Experience required for the Employability Trainer
• Essential:
o GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English or the ability to achieve.
o Assessor Award A1 or equivalent.
o PTLLS or a related teaching qualification.
o Experience in the employability sector and training in non-traditional environments.
o Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Effective communication and a positive, adaptable approach.
Special Conditions:
• The role requires occasional evening or Saturday work.
• Must be willing to work off-site and have access to reliable transportation.
