My client based in Somerset are looking for a motivated individual to join their technical team. If you have previously worked in a laboratory environment or have just graduated with a science degree and are looking for your first job to grow in a leading food manufacturing company, then this might be the job for you!

The role:
• Perform chemistry and microbiology lab tests, including environmental and hygiene swabs.
• Operate lab equipment (e.g., autoclaves, FTIR, NIR spectrometers).
• Conduct taste panels and manage reference samples.
• Ensure stock rotation, lab housekeeping, and waste disposal.
• Use lab databases (e.g., LIMs), compile reports, and support product release.
• Investigate and act on non-compliant results.
• Work within strict procedures and conduct internal audits.

The candidate:
• 12+ months of lab experience, preferably in food & beverage.
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet lab KPIs.
• Proficiency in lab databases and computer systems.

Benefits:
• Salary circa £30,000
