Job Summary
To effectively deliver the main responsibilities within the Senior RSW role. Ensuring effective service delivery with a view to supporting the positive development of the children/young people, staff, service and company.

To be part of a team offering a comprehensive, high quality residential service to children and young people. The aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional well-being of the children/young people are met and to assist in their positive holistic development and resilience

Responsibilities

* · To actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children/young people.

* To report immediately any unsafe practices and conditions.

* Effective personal practice and effective management of a team.

* Unconditionally support the positive holistic development of the children/young people within the home.

* To actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children/young people.

* To ensure the ongoing assessment of children and young people’s needs in day to day practice.

* Ensure all staff practice is in line with best practice and the children and young people’s Care and Placement Plans.

* Continuously and unconditionally promote the structure, boundaries and routines within a safe and nurturing environment.

* Be responsibility for the effective and efficient running of shifts including the planning and appropriate activities.

* Provide a positive role model for the young people, presenting oneself in a highly professional manner at all times

* As required work with young people on intervention strategies to promote pro-social behaviour.

* Ensure the delivery of all key worker areas and responsibilities including delivery of direct work.

Skills

* Previous experience in childcare or working with children is highly desirable.

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children and families.

* Ability to follow care plans meticulously while adapting to the needs of each child.

* Empathetic people person who is non-judgemental and calm

* Dedicated and committed with a “can-do” attitude

Qualifications

Familiarity with residential care principles is beneficial

Level 3 or 4 in Residential Child Care (Children and Young Peoples Workforce)

12 Months Experience

Ability to work shifts and sleep in the home overnight

Must have valid Right to Work in the UK
