Job title: Warehouse Team Manager Day/Mid/Night (DEP: Warehouse Co-ordinator)

* To lead and manage the operations of the warehouse in line with budgets. Ensuring compliance to Health & safety, Food Safety, Environmental legislation and all internal standards.

* To provide leadership and motivation to the team to achieve set KPI standards and targets.

* To ensure that an excellent level of service is given at all times to internal and external customers.

Accountabilities – may include but not limited to.

1.Manage the warehouse team to ensure all goods are picked onto cages or pallets, correctly compiled and wrapped, labelled and loaded correctly on vehicles.

2.Ensure company assets in the warehouse (cages, pallets, stock) are controlled and accounted for at all times in line with budget.

3.Manage employee and equipment deployment to maximise shift efficiency, both directly and through your supervisory team

4.Ensure that good management practice and all processes are followed in order to ensure the Health and Safety of our employees and customers.

5.Ensure that the department is operated with compliance to all company audit and legal standards, including Food Safety, Health & Safety, customer and internal audits.

6.Process wage payments, including bonus payments accurately and on time.

7.Review credit notes and take action to reduce the numbers of credits attributable to warehouse operations

8.Ensure that all equipment is maintained to company standards and all damages are recorded and stored according to damage procedures.

9.To ensure that inductions and training are carried out as set by the company standards

10.Manage the team of Supervisors Team Leaders and warehouse operatives and ensure appraisals, people management and conduct issues are dealt with.

11.Manage the night trunking operation (if applicable)

12.Account for product availability and NATOPS

13.Health and safety accountabilities:

* Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy.

* Support the BS OHSAS 18001: accreditation process.

* Comply with all verbal and written instructions in matters pertaining to Health & Safety.

Attend Health & Safety training courses as per instructions from line managers

Measures & Key Performance Indicators

(How performance against the job accountabilities above will be measured – a KPI may cover more than one accountability)

The department is fully compliant and passes all internal and external audits

Temperature logs are accurately completed and issues dealt with immediately

All goods in Hub temperatures and loading temperatures are recorded

Stock loss kept within budget

Staff accident statistics within company target

Department absence less than 3%

Hub variances checked and loaded by 5am

Operation comes in under cost/ budget

All matters relating to Health and Safety and Food safety are compliant at all times

Implement clean as you go policy and conduct walk around at beginning and end of shift

All customers designated as 100% are checked as correct and loaded before the end of shift

Credit notes to be reduced and maintained at 1%

Typical challenges faced in the role and decisions needing to be made by jobholder

Meeting service targets within the operational capability of the team

Exploring opportunities within the warehouse to exceed KPI targets

To ensure all internal and external customer deliveries are assembled, picked and loaded in an accurate and presentable manner.

To ensure the presentation of the stock and warehouse environment is at the required standard at all times.

To ensure the warehouse teams operate within the guidelines set by legislation to provide a safe working environment

To help motivate and manage a team of people in sometimes challenging circumstances

Experience of a fast moving food distribution environment

Effective planning and communication skills

Experience of working effectively within a team to provide customer service

Evidence of effective people management
