One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Violence Reduction Project Coordinator. This is a 3 month temporary contract with possible further extension based on budget and performance.

Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary

The Community Safety Unit is a key team within the Council, responsible for coordination and liaison with partners in developing and delivering strategies to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. We commission projects and coordinate activity, reporting back to Council Scrutiny Panels.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Effectively manage all aspects of the Locks & Bolts Project, which aids vulnerable adults in the borough to remain safely in their homes.

* Manage a cross borough priority working group (North Area Violence Reduction Group) with oversight of governance, liaising with partners from multiple organisations including regional leads from the VRU. Taking the lead on the coordination of the programme.

* Work with the strategic lead to ensure Domestic Homicide Reviews are commissioned, facilitated, and reported back to the Home Office in a timely fashion. Ensuring current knowledge of Home Office legislation and guidance (including DHR training).

* Ensure that relevant Community Safety information is available on the Council’s Webpages.
