Jackson Hogg Procurement division are delighted to be exclusively partnered with a growing charity in Bishop Auckland on the appointment of a Procurement Lead to join their organisation. This is a new role for the company in a time of growth, so will act as a stand alone procurement contact, managing spend across a wide variety of categories.
This position is full time and permanent with the role being based on site in Bishop Auckland. Adhoc home working can be accomodated and flexbility will be offered. The working hours are typically Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 but flexibility to an 08:00 or 08:30 start time can be honoured.
The Role:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Buyer with good commercial awareness and experience in negotiating contracts for consumable, Project and Civil contracts, with values ranging from £100 to contracts of over £10m.

Manage preferred suppliers list

Updating and implementing procurement procedures to establish a smoother process for purchase orders that are raised
*
Working closely with the finance team to help establish control over budgets and spends both historic and projected via Sage
*
Reporting to the Finance Director on day-to-day issues as well as being able to attend and support management meetings to give updates on project and budgetary control.

The Person/Specification:
* At least 5 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role with demonstrable cost saving skills
* Experience working within a small team and capable of communicating to both suppliers and within the organisation at all levels
* We are looking for someone who understands the needs of a charity but more importantly the need to manage and control spends across the wider organisation.
* Positive outlook on getting things done in an orderly and timely fashion
* A background in a procurement role within FMCG, events or hospitality would be advantageous but not essential
