Associate Transport Planner
Location: Manchester city centre
Salary: up to 65k plus package including a yearly bonus, hybrid working, 25 days leave, various discounted benefits
Emtech are working with a large UK based Engineering Consultancy who are looking for an Associate Transport Planner to join their Transport Planning team in Manchester. In this role you will be expected to project manage a range of development schemes, manage clients, help to grow the team and train / mentor junior staff in the Manchester office.
Workload is evenly split across education, residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare and mixed use schemes. There is not a large focus into one specific sector.
This is a business that have grown year on year and are now looking for an experienced Transport Planner to play a key role in their transport planning team in 2025.
Ideally you will have the have the following experience:
Experienced undertaking development planning work, specialising in providing highways and transport advice to a wide range of private sector clients, while supporting several key local authority clients. They provide advice on access, transportation and infrastructure issues and support development proposals throughout the planning process. The projects are varied so experience across a range of sectors such a residential, education, retail etc would be useful
You will have a proven record in client care and ideally have secured repeat work previously from clients
Well versed in the preparation of Transport Assessments for developments, together with Travel Plans, Transport Studies, the associated negotiations with planning, highways and transport authorities.
Prior experience in GIS, ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG and TEMPRO highway software, so you will be able to delegate to and accurately interpret the work of others.
You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and able to work as part of a team and individually. Experience in technical report writing and consultation with stakeholders is essential.
Keen to get involved with business development and marketing activities to support new revenue streams within transport planning - note work winning is not essential from the outset but something they will be looking for this person to get involved with in the futureThis is an opportunity to lead a transport planning division in London as part of a reputable company.
