Job Title: Clinical Services Manager
Salary: £65,000
Reports to: Head of Clinical Services
Job Summary:
The Clinical Services Manager is responsible for ensuring that clinical services are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This key role is central to maintaining clinical governance frameworks, managing risk, and driving continuous improvement across both adult and children’s services. The manager will coordinate all activities related to clinical governance, ensuring clinical compliance and best practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Framework Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain the clinical governance framework in alignment with organisational goals and standards.
Ensure that clinical policies, procedures, and protocols are up to date and adhered to across all services.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to clinical quality and safety.
Quality Assurance & Improvement:
Lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives across clinical services.
Coordinate clinical audits, safety reviews, and incident investigations.
Implement improvement plans based on audit results and performance data.
Risk Management:
Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of clinical risks.
Ensure systems are in place to report, investigate, and address clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints.
Develop and monitor action plans to mitigate risks and improve the safety of those we support.
Training & Development:
Coordinate training programs related to clinical governance and quality for all staff.
Ensure clinical staff are informed and educated about policies, procedures, and governance issues.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
Experience & Engagement:
Lead initiatives to improve client and family satisfaction.
Work with service users, families, and staff to address concerns and feedback.
Analyse satisfaction surveys and feedback to implement care improvements.
Clinical Involvement:
Provide clinical input in the assessment and treatment of both young people and adults as necessary.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Liaise with clinical teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to promote best practices in governance and care.
Chair or participate in clinical risk meetings.
Work with other departments to align clinical governance with organisational objectives.
Data Management & Reporting:
Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical performance data.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior leadership.
Use data to drive clinical improvements.
Project Management:
Lead the implementation of the reunification fostering pathway.
Contribute to the development and launch of new services.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
Significant experience in clinical governance, quality assurance, or risk management.
Understanding of both children’s and adult care regulations.
Proven track record of leading clinical initiatives.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of clinical governance principles, risk management, and healthcare regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to analyse complex data and translate findings into actionable improvements.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in clinical audit, risk assessment, and reporting software.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role, where the Clinical Services Manager will interact regularly with clinical staff, residential staff, and senior leadership. They will play a key role in setting up services related to fostering, contact services, and clinical-specific programs within the organisation.
