My client is looking for an Electrical Estimator to join their team.
The Estimator is responsible for accurately calculating the cost, time, materials, labour and equipment required for complex, mid-value projects. Including planning, development, negotiation, contract execution and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Review tender information once allocated and report findings of assessment back to manager/director within 24 hours.
Support Estimating Coordinator as required to:
Acknowledge and collate tender enquiries received.
Download relevant tender documentation and register on company CRM system.
Assess incoming tenders to identify return date, programme dates/duration.
Assess incoming tenders to identify overview of project, potential value, and initial project risks
Review documents for technical RFIs to be added to RFI tracker.
Prepare initial project narrative and record on CRM identifying brief description of project and initial observations.
Attend pre-tender/design meetings to clarify client requirements.
Record and log project risks on project risk register (lack of information; non-response to RFIs; unknowns; provisional allowances; non return of quotations; project specific risks, constraints or considerations). Support Estimating Coordinator as required to:
Review all tender documents received, match documents against document register.
Prepare initial RFI document with any findings from document review and request for project particulars (programme dates, return dates etc).
Prepare document pack; identify and print relevant drawings and documents.
Manage RFI Tracker; adding team RFIs; adding client responses; chasing client responses when not received. Skills

Detailed understanding of tender and procurement processes relevant to the M&E sector Estimating Tender Process
Follow procedural documents.
Carry our appropriate document control.
Carry out accurate take-offs for materials and cost works.
Attend pre-tender/mid-tender meetings and record minutes.
Review all supplier and subcontractor quotes, checking inclusions/exclusions and terms and conditions.
Produce net cost tender for presentation to manager/directors. Use estimating software.
Offer value engineering or alternative material suggestions for discussion.
Support Estimating Coordinator as required to:
Issue enquiries for materials, plant, equipment, and subcontract packages with clear return dates.
Create project on estimating software using unique enquiry number and build up using client CSA. Submission
Conduct and participate in tender submission meeting.
Action agreed tender mark ups on company estimating software.
Ensure final costs, inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions are accurately defined and added to tender return letter.
Issue tender to meet return deadline and update CRM system.
Implement appropriate document control.
Support Estimating Coordinator as required to:
Produce initial tender return letter template with quote number, date, client information, suitable picture etc.
Prepare supporting S.O.R or B.O.Q if necessary. Person Specification

Relevant industry qualification.
