Assistant Financial Controller
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire
Hours: Permanent, Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 per annum
Our client is looking for a driven and highly skilled qualified accountant to take on the role of Assistant Financial Controller within a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial management and commercial support.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the senior management team to help achieve financial and growth objectives.
*
Prepare and submit monthly management accounts and reports within agreed deadlines.
*
Analyse and present key financial data to support decision-making across commercial and operational areas.
*
Oversee working capital management and implement initiatives to improve efficiency.
*
Lead the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
*
Manage year-end financial reporting and liaise with external auditors.
*
Prepare statutory accounts and handle various statutory returns.
*
Ensure the integrity of all financial data reported within the business.
*
Support the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll teams to ensure smooth operations.
*
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and insurance reporting.
*
Work with Internal Audit on any queries or issues related to the business.
*
Contribute to systems and process improvements.
*
Maintain high standards of internal controls and financial support services.
*
Participate in ad hoc projects as required by the business.
Key Skills:
*
ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
*
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
*
A team player who can work collaboratively across functions.
*
Capable of managing multiple priorities and working effectively in a dynamic environment.
*
Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong IT skills.
*
Experience with Sage and SAP is beneficial
