Your World Recruitment is currently supporting a Healthcare organisation based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire with the recruitment of a Plumber/Fitter, to undertake plumbing and fitting maintenance repairs, planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, specialising testing, fault finding, repair of equipment, and installation work.

BAND 5 PLUMBER/FITTER

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Band 5 Plumber/Fitter to join our team at Hinchingbrooke. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of maintenance activities, including planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, specialist testing, fault finding, repair of equipment, and installation work. This role requires diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and maintaining building engineering services, plant, and equipment. Additionally, you will oversee others in fault-finding, repairs, maintenance, and installation of complex plant, equipment, and buildings belonging to the Trust.

Duration of booking: Expected to last 3 months with possible extension

Proposed start date: ASAP

Pay Rates: Up to £19 per hour Umbrella or £16 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay

Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform planned and reactive maintenance on plumbing and heating systems.

* Service and conduct specialist testing on equipment.

* Diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs on building engineering services, plant, and equipment.

* Install new plumbing and heating systems as required.

* Oversee and guide other team members on fault-finding, repairs, maintenance, and installation tasks.

* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and Trust standards.

Education & Qualifications:

Essential:

BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in Heating and Plumbing, OR Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (NVQ level 3 with key skills) in Heating and Plumbing Completion of a structured training program in heating or plumbing for a minimum period of 3 years.

Desirable:

* IOSH Working Safely Certification

* AP Trained (Authorised Person Training)

Skills and Attributes:

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage and oversee junior staff and contractors.

Strong understanding of health and safety practices related to plumbing and heating systems
