Network Systems Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities:

* Developing custom hardware and software solutions to optimise network performance and user experience for remote locations and marine environments.

* Designing bespoke networks for land and sea applications, incorporating virtualisation, high availability, and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

* Managing and improving Linux-based systems, including VoIP services, firewalls, web filtering, and traffic management.

* Engaging with clients to provide technical expertise, participate in meetings, and deliver demonstrations highlighting tailored solutions.

* Resolving complex technical issues and staying informed about advancements in IT and communication technologies.

The ideal candidate will be a versatile engineer with expertise in Windows, Cloud, and Linux systems, coupled with a proven ability to work across varied platforms and environments.

What are we looking

* Extensive experience working with Linux operating systems such as CentOS or Ubuntu.

* In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including routing, switching, and firewall configurations.

* Familiarity with VoIP platforms like Asterisk and expertise in traffic management techniques.

* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Perl.

* Experience with virtualisation technologies like Docker or VMware (desirable).

* Background in database management using systems like MySQL (desirable).

* Awareness of satellite networking or exposure to varied IT environments (desirable)
