Commercial Manager – Civil Engineering

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking to develop your career on a high profile Civil Engineering project? Then a role with this market leading Contractor could be for you.
My client is a multi billion Civil Engineering Contractor delivering an iconic Civil Engineering project across the West Midlands. They are looking to add a Commercial Manager to their Commercial Delivery Team to manage the contractual entitlements through the contract mechanism.
The role will also manage change commercial support staff and Planning resources as the project develops.
As Commercial Manager your duties and responsibilities will include;
* Maximise change (time and money) entitlements under the contract.
* Identify and raise change notices as required and convert to compensation events / claims, where applicable.
* Work closely with planners, to establish via recognised delay analysis techniques, entitlement to the adjustment of planned Key Dates and Completion Date together with associated actual/forecasted Defined Costs.
* Preparing quotations (entitlement to adjustments to Key Dates and Completion Date and ascertainment of change to Prices, time analysis, risk analysis entitlement submissions for compensation events, proposed compensation events and orders of magnitude for potential changes as directed and required.
* Manage a small team and interact as necessary with the relevant teams in core and project wide to enhance the commercial position and deliver claims, quotations and time analysis submissions on time.
* Advise, prepare and write detailed claim documentation.
* Support the Commercial lead as required.
* Help to negotiate and resolve claims and disputes, including the preparation of further escalation papers when necessary.
The following qualifications are essential:
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
* Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB
