About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team. You'll be supporting our client, EDF Energy Nuclear Generation, across their UK nuclear fleet, with a primary focus at Hinkley Point B Power Station. This role is crucial in delivering multiple projects, ranging from nuclear defueling and decommissioning to potential new builds, offering you the chance to grow your skills in a dynamic and highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide positive leadership on HSE matters within the project teams and promote best practices, fostering a proactive HSE culture.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the HSE Management System and ensure compliance with HSE Performance Standards.
Support projects across the UK, with a focus on Hinkley Point B’s defueling and decommissioning phase.
Ensure high safety standards are maintained within the team, reporting to the Operations Manager and directly accountable to the client.
Qualifications & Experience:
HNC in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent.
Knowledge of CDM Regulations and experience working in highly regulated environments.
NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate/NVQ Level 3.
Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (desirable).
IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
Strong communication, organisational skills, and experience managing contractors.
Experience in accident investigation and reporting within an operational environment.
