Warehouse Operative

The Role

Working in and around the primary storage warehouse in a ‘hands-on’ role the Warehouse Operator uses manual handling, a variety of vehicles and computer systems to enable smooth flow of parts and materials from purchase receipt, through storage and supply into the factory for work.

Main Responsibilities

Unloading incoming goods using counterbalance FLT
Opening deliveries ready for inspection
Unpacking deliveries post inspection
Sorting used packaging for recycling
Quantity checking
Packing parts and materials in Fort Vale storage units
Loading storage units into racking
Retrieving storage units when parts and materials are needed
Preparing unloaded items for internal distribution
Internal distribution of parts and materials

Warehouse Operative

The Candidate

Basic computer skills (training in FV’s specific systems is provided)
Competence with counterbalance FLT & VNA is an advantage.
The WO will initially hold or will gain a counterbalance FLT license. Training and certification in the use of other vehicles will be provided in order to meet the skills & abilities criteria.

Comfortable with manual handling of parts and materials in line manual handling operations
Regulations.
