Job Specification: QA Analyst - Customer Facing Portal

Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum
Reporting to: Head of QA

About the QA Analyst role:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive QA Analyst to join our client's global team and contribute to delivering exceptional quality on their customer-facing portal. This is a hands-on role with a focus on both manual and automation testing, requiring someone who can hit the ground running in an agile and fast-paced environment. You'll be a key player in ensuring a seamless and robust user experience for our global customer base.

Key Responsibilities for the QA Analyst:

Automation Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress and Jest.
Manual Testing: Conduct thorough manual testing where automation is not applicable, focusing on exploratory and regression testing.
Test Planning and Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, create test plans, and execute test cases to validate functionality.
Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and manage defects in the bug tracking system, ensuring clear communication with development teams for swift resolution.
Agile Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment, actively participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Performance and Usability Testing: Assess system performance and ensure the portal meets usability and accessibility standards.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance QA processes, tools, and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Required Skills and Experience for the QA Analyst:

Experience: Mid-level experience in quality assurance, with a proven track record of testing web applications in customer-facing environments.
Automation Tools: Proficiency in Cypress and Jest for automation testing.
Testing Expertise: Strong knowledge of both manual and automation testing practices, including exploratory testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing.
Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Bug Tracking: Experience using bug tracking and version control tools.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of web technologies, APIs, and debugging tools.
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Desirable Skills

Exposure to performance testing tools or methodologies.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
