Job Title: Trade Compliance Analyst
Location: Mostly Remote (occasional onsite visits to Daventry, Darlington, or Huddersfield)
Contract Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 6-month assignment (with a strong likelihood of extension)
Hourly Rate: £15.39 per hour (PAYE)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to join our Customs and Trade Compliance team. This is a critical role where you will support global trade management functions, focusing on compliance with customs regulations and/or export controls. While this is primarily a remote position, occasional onsite work (once every 2-3 weeks) will be required to collaborate with the team on projects. Candidates should either be local to or willing to commute to Daventry, Darlington, or Huddersfield as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and execute processes that ensure compliance with customs regulations and export control laws.
Work with large datasets in Excel, using functions such as VLOOKUP, filters, and other data analysis tools to generate insights and support decision-making.
Collaborate with the Customs and Trade Compliance team on various trade operations and compliance projects.
Take the initiative in identifying areas where guidance or support is needed and proactively seek help when necessary.
Communicate effectively across teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance with regulations.
Preferred Experience:
No prior trade or brokerage experience is required, but familiarity with shipping, logistics, or transportation processes will be an advantage.
Experience with Microsoft Excel (intermediate skills, including VLOOKUP, filters, and data analysis) is essential, as you will be handling spreadsheet-based work regularly.
Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and draw actionable conclusions from it.
Knowledge of the business would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Clear Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must for effective collaboration.
Proactive Approach: A self-starter who takes initiative, asks questions when necessary, and stays motivated without continuous oversight.
IT Competence: Solid skills in Microsoft Office tools (particularly Excel), and proficiency with email and calendar systems for daily communication and scheduling.
