IT Security Assurance Lead
Duration: 6 months
Start: January 2025
Rate: To circa £650.00 Per Day - Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Location: Hybrid working - 1 day per week onsite in Warwickshire. the rest remote working
We are looking for a highly accomplished, UK based IT Security Assurance Lead / Technical SME to assist our leading financial services client in the Midlands with their Datacentre Exit program of work.
Deliverables -
Deliverable 1: Cloud Migration Support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the migration of corporate applications, servers, and databases to Azure.
• Ensure identity and access mechanisms for Azure-based solutions align with security best practices.
• Act as a technical SME to resolve IAM/PAM challenges during migrations and cutovers.
• Perform security reviews of migration plans to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
Deliverable 2: Identity & Access Management
• Manage identity and access configurations for Windows/Linux servers, SQL/Oracle databases, and applications.
• Implement improvements to role-based access controls (RBAC), least privilege principles, and zero trust security models across the IT ecosystem.
• Provide oversight and governance of user access and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies.
Deliverable 3: Privileged Account Management
• Assist product teams in the configuration and management of PAM solutions such as CyberArk or equivalent tools.
• Ensure secure onboarding, lifecycle management, and decommissioning of privileged accounts.
• Conduct regular audits of privileged account usage to detect and mitigate potential risks.
• Provide technical support and advice to IT teams on best practices for managing privileged credentials.
Deliverable 4: Security Assurance & Governance
• Provide security oversight during system migrations, ensuring appropriate controls are in place for identity and access management.
• Perform entitlement reviews and ensure compliance with organisational policies and industry regulations.
• Challenge and guide teams to adopt security best practices for IAM/PAM processes during cutovers and operational activities.
• Design and test ITSM workflows, request forms and processes to support the creation, amendment and removal of service/privileged accounts.
Deliverable 5: Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with IT teams, project managers, and third-party suppliers to deliver seamless migration projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor, educating stakeholders on IAM/PAM concepts.
• Deliver technical insights and recommendations to senior IT leaders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Deliverable 6: Technical Excellence
• Utilise Power BI and SQL for reporting and analysis of identity and access data.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of IAM/PAM-related technical issues in a timely manner.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in identity and access management, PAM, and Cloud security.
Essential Skills:
Experience:
• Hands-on experience with system and software migrations, preferably to Azure Cloud environments.
• Track record of working with third party suppliers to improve security posture.
• Proven experience working with IAM and PAM solutions.
• Strong background in Active Directory, LDAP, Azure AD, and related authentication mechanisms.
• Familiarity with Power BI reporting, ServiceNow development and SQL/Oracle database access management.
• Track record of providing security assurance and governance in previous IT roles.
Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of identity and authentication processes, such as single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and federated identity systems.
• Expertise in RBAC, least privilege, entitlement management, and zero trust frameworks.
• Understanding of Azure Cloud services and associated security features.
Soft Skills:
• Self-motivated, driven, and autonomous, requiring minimal support to achieve outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence to challenge stakeholders and enforce best practices.
