Role - Design Proposals Engineer
Location – Nottingham
Hours – Monday to Friday (Days)
Package - £35k – £40k per annum + Company Performance Bonus
Benefits – 33 Days of Annual Leave, Enhanced Pension, Death in Service Provision
The Company
The Business is one of the World’s best known Manufacturers in Automated Materials Handling and Automated Logistics solutions. Specialising in fully bespoke, fully automated Warehousing and Manufacturing Product Handling Systems, they can produce a wide range of solutions to fit any requirement.
With the World of Manufacturing and Logistics becoming ever more Automated, they are busier than ever and as such are expanding their Engineering function to deal with their growing customer base.
The Role
The Design Proposals Engineer will be working as part of the Sales Team to produce Initial Concepts and Costings for new Projects. This would involve attending client meetings alongside Sales Engineers to fully understand the Customer’s requirements and perform Site Surveys.
Once all the Requirements and Site information is gathered, the Design Proposals Engineer would then put together initial Layout Drawings and 3D Design Concept Models, along with costings and installation timescales. These drawings and plans are purely for the Customer to visualise the proposed solutions, with the final Designs being handled by the Design Department once the client has agreed to the Sale.
The Design Proposals Engineer will also be the Technical Point of Contact during the Sales process. As much as this role sits within the Sales Team, this is not a Sales Engineer position and all negotiation will be conducted by the Sales Team.
The Candidate
As this role is dealing with Automated Materials Handling equipment, you will need to have a good grounding in Electrical and Mechanical Automated Systems, as well as a recognised Engineering Qualification.
The business are happy to look at Recent Graduates who are looking for their first role in Design, or even those with a year or more experience.
You must have:
* A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Automation
* Be proficient in 2D and 3D CAD
* Have excellent Communication Skills
* Be Computer Literate and confident of Microsoft Packages
